Construction remains on schedule with all buildings and exterior features to be completed by the end of this month. Asphalt has been laid across all carpark areas except two. These remaining areas will be sealed during the next two weeks. Once this is finished, landscaping will commence and will be completed by early September. A number of retailers will open their doors during September since internal fitouts are progressing well.

The State Government has announced a $940 million regional public hospital will be built in Kawana Waters, just minutes from Home Central Kawana. The proposed hospital and training facility will be built on Kawana Way by developers Stockland, guaranteeing further exposure and increased traffic for all Home Central Kawana retailers. The decision to locate the hospital at Kawana further cements the region's position as one of the fastest growing areas on the Sunshine Coast for forecast population growth over the next 20 years. “The 2,700 hectare Kawana Waters community is now home to over 22,000 residents, and has become one of the Sunshine Coast’s major residential, employment and recreational precincts. The regional hospital will be within walking distance of the 30 hectare Kawana Business Village and the Kawana Town Centre,” Stockland Regional Manager, Sunshine Coast, Mark Hunter said. creating a visually stimulating and practical retail environment, paying special attention to
detail, style and quality. “The bold buildings facing Kawana Way
are intended to attract the attention of passers-by while colour and
special features will be used to unify the buildings and complement the
Sunshine Coast’s character,” he said. The eye catching design of
the eight Home Central Kawana site buildings has become synonymous with
the new site and its location.

It’s been four hard weeks of early morning wake up calls, protein shakes, and endurance training for the members of the Home Central Kawana construction team signed up for this year’s Caloundra Coastal Bike Ride…or at least that’s what they tell us. Our July e-news article inspired Thiess employees and cycling enthusiasts Sam Frith, Gerard Graham, Elliot McLeod and Luke Shaw and their families to register for the August 27 event in support of Camp Quality and the assistance they give to children and their families living with cancer. “It’s a great initiative and the opportunity for a fun family day out,” Luke said.
